Dye-sublimation fuses ink directly into the fabric fiber at a molecular level. The result is vivid, edge-to-edge color that never cracks, fades, or peels — even after hundreds of washes.
Your design is literally woven into the sock using colored yarn. The texture and durability are unmatched — this is the premium option used for high-end branded merchandise and corporate gifting.

I landed upon The Monterey Company by chance looking to get custom hats made for my small firefighter brand from CA. I spoke to Sarah who got the process rolling the same day, responded fast to all my questions & made the process incredibly easy. The final product arrived quickly and it came out better than I could have imagined. I can tell you that they care about the work they do and I couldn't be more proud to share this with my people.
We've been using Monterey Company for all of our company hats for nearly five years, and they consistently do a fantastic job. Their team is responsive, professional, and always quick to address any questions or concerns. Our hats feature PVC patches, and the quality is outstanding with vibrant colors, sharp details, and durable construction every time. Highly recommend!
I have ordered from this company for the past 3 years. I order race medals for a local 5K that I handle, and they always look so sharp and make the process for ordering so easy. Recently I had to order specific pins for a foundation I work for. They were able to do the design exactly how I wanted and when I needed a lower price point, they were able to give me some good options. Product arrived perfect. Great people and great company!!
I used Monterey Company to help make a custom order of 50 soft enamel pins and they made the process so seamless! Everyone I interacted with had great communication and were eager to assist me throughout the entire process. Josh specifically took great care in regularly sending me updates and sharing my excitement for the final product. I would trust these folks to handle any project, big or small.
Sarah is absolutely incredible! We had a last minute opportunity we needed some merch for. She found us the most amazing items that fit perfectly with our brand. The proofs were perfect the first time and we sailed through production! She managed every aspect of our order and items even arrived early! The items themselves are high quality and exactly as promised!

Sublimation printing works best on white or light-colored base socks. For dark bases, we recommend DTF or jacquard knit. We'll advise on the best option for your design when you submit your artwork.
All-over printing is our most popular option — it gives your artwork the maximum canvas and makes for the most eye-catching finished product. Cuff-only is ideal for dress socks or logo-focused designs.
Pricing scales with quantity — the more pairs you order, the better your per-unit cost. Request a quote for exact pricing based on your style, method, and quantity. We'll send a detailed breakdown within one business day.
Quick answers on minimums, lead times, print methods, artwork, sizing, and what goes into a custom sock order from start to finish.
It depends on the print method. Sublimation-printed socks typically start at 12 pairs. Jacquard knit socks involve a custom weaving setup and generally require 100–144 pairs minimum to be cost-effective. DTF transfers can work in smaller runs. Request a quote and we'll confirm the minimums for your chosen style and method.
Standard production for sublimation-printed socks is 10–14 business days after artwork approval, plus shipping. Jacquard knit socks take longer — typically 3–5 weeks — due to the weaving setup. Rush production is available for sublimation orders. Contact us with your deadline and we'll let you know what's achievable.
Sublimation printing produces vibrant, photorealistic, full-color all-over designs on white or light-colored sock bases — ideal for logos with many colors, photos, and detailed artwork. Jacquard knit weaves colored yarn directly into the sock structure so the design is part of the fabric itself. Knit socks look more traditional and premium but are limited to simpler designs with fewer colors. Both look excellent — the right choice depends on your design and budget.
Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF) are preferred for the cleanest output at any size. High-resolution raster files (PNG at 300 DPI or higher) are also accepted for sublimation and photo socks. If your artwork needs cleanup or conversion, our in-house design team can help at no extra charge — just send us what you have.
Yes. Most custom sock styles are available in multiple size ranges — typically Small/Medium (shoe size 5–9) and Large/X-Large (shoe size 10–13). Youth sizes are available for select styles. When you request a quote, tell us your size breakdown and we'll account for it in production.
Yes — pricing improves at 48, 96, and 144+ pairs. For very large orders (500+ pairs), we offer custom volume pricing. Request a quote with your quantity and we'll send a full pricing breakdown based on your style, method, and order size within one business day.
Always. Every order receives a free digital proof showing exactly how your design will look on the finished sock before we produce a single pair. Production only begins after you've reviewed and approved the proof. What you approve is what gets made.
Absolutely — photo and face socks are one of our most popular items. Upload any image and we'll sublimation print it all over the sock in full color. They're a crowd favorite at events, fundraisers, and as branded merch. Just send us a high-resolution photo (300 DPI or better) and we'll handle the rest.
