What Is A Fitted Hat?
A fitted hat is a cap made in specific sizes without an adjustable back, offering a sleek, custom fit and a polished look. Find out below why a perfectly fitted hat can make all the difference for comfort, style, and confidence!
How are Fitted Hats Different From Snapbacks?
Fitted Hats do not have an adjustable back, and sits on your head with a flat brim. You have to buy these hats in the correct size, or they just won’t sit right. They also tend to be made with higher quality materials compared to snapback caps, which makes them slightly more expensive.
Snapbacks are curved bill baseball caps which come with an adjustable back. When you adjust your hat size, the two pieces of the back must “snap” together to make sure the hat is secure on your head.
What to Consider Choosing Fitted Hats
What are the Fitted Hats Being Made For?
Ease and Comfort
Fitted hats have a single piece of material that encircles the whole hat. There’s not a hole in the back since we only get a hole on a custom hat with the two pieces on the back. These are what normally “snap” in the back of the hat to adjust it, thus getting the name “snapback”. But that also means because fitted hats don’t have this hole, they’re a tighter fit. It’s perfect for activities or sports that require a lot of movement outdoors!
Customizability
Because fitted hats don’t need any extra adjustments, there is no separation on the material of the hat. Their crowns are stiffer as a result, which is perfect for customizations of all kinds! In particular, we see a lot of success when people use this style of hat for direct printing or embroidery of their custom designs.
Who is Wearing Your Hats?
Fitted hats are unfortunately not a universally loved hat. Just as with any hat, there are certain drawbacks that you may not think about. As an example, women have a difficult time with fitted hats if they have long hair. Without the hole that gets created from the snapback, women have a more difficult time wearing their hats. They need the hole in the back if they’re going to wear the hat with their hair up.
These hats are still a great choice for active wear though, since they are made to be as fitting as they possibly can be. A fitted hat makes for a great finished and clean look. Though they are a little pricier than a standard cap, that extra money goes into making the hat fully customizable just for your clients!
