How much do custom magnets cost?
Pricing depends on quantity, size, and material. As a rough guide, a 2"×2" full-color PVC magnet runs roughly $1.50–$3.00 per piece in quantities of 250–500, with the per-unit price dropping at higher volumes. Larger sizes, 3D molding, and specialty finishes adjust the number up; flat 2D printed magnets adjust it down. Send us your specs and we'll come back with an exact quote within one business day.

What is the minimum order quantity?
Our standard minimum is 100 pieces. Most clients order between 250 and 1,000, which is the sweet spot where the per-unit price drops without committing to inventory you can't move.

What sizes and shapes are available?
Magnets are produced to your exact specs. Most-ordered sizes:
- Business card: 3.5"×2"
- Standard fridge: 2"×2", 3"×3", or 4"×4"
- Save-the-date: 4"×6" or 5"×7"
- Bumper: 11.5"×3"
- Vehicle door: 12"×18" or 18"×24"
Shapes include square, rectangle, rounded-corner rectangle, circle, oval, and fully die-cut to your artwork.

What's the difference between 2D and 3D PVC magnets?
2D PVC magnets are flat and printed in full color — best for type-driven brands, photos, and logos that read well on a single plane. 3D PVC magnets are sculpted with raised areas, recessed lines, and beveled borders for designs that need depth or a tactile feel like mascots, badges, and layered logos. 3D adds a setup cost for the mold but delivers a far more premium finished piece.

How long does production take?
Standard production is two to three weeks from artwork approval to ship date. Rush production is available for time-sensitive events. Digital art proofs typically come back within one business day of receiving your order.

Are custom magnets weatherproof and outdoor-safe?
Yes — vehicle magnets, bumper magnets, and outdoor signage magnets use UV-rated inks and a heavier magnetic stock built to handle sun, rain, and highway speeds. Indoor fridge and business-card magnets use a lighter stock optimized for cost and detail. Tell us where the magnet will live and we'll spec the right material.

What artwork format do you need?
Vector files (.AI, .EPS, .PDF, or .SVG) produce the cleanest result, but we can work with high-resolution raster files (.PNG or .JPG at 300 DPI or higher) and even rough sketches. If you only have a low-res logo, our in-house art team can redraw it as part of the proof process — no extra charge.

Do you offer custom car magnets and vehicle signs?
Yes — vehicle door magnets are one of our most popular products with HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, and food-truck operators. Standard sizes are 12"×18" and 18"×24" with rounded corners and weather-rated UV inks. They install in seconds, remove cleanly, and store flat between uses.

Can you match my exact brand colors?
Yes. Provide your Pantone (PMS) numbers with your artwork and we'll color-match in production. For full-color photo printing we use CMYK process — close to most brand palettes but slightly more variable than spot-color PMS matching. Your digital proof will show the exact colors before we go to print.

The Monterey Company is a custom magnet manufacturer headquartered in Bend, Oregon, and we've been manufacturing custom promotional products for nearly 30 years. We work with vetted overseas production partners for the best combination of price, quality, and lead time, and every order is QC'd before it ships. Domestic-only production is available on request for clients with that requirement. Beyond magnets, we manufacture the full range of promotional items from one shop.
