Real Orders. Real Airmen. Real Military Challenge Coins.
Don't take our word for it. Airmen, veterans, and collectors have made our custom aircraft design coins some of the most sought-after military collectibles in the game. Here's what they're saying.
The Monterey Company recently designed a challenge coin for the Indiana Army National Guard, and they exceeded all expectations. Despite a tight deadline, they handled everything with professionalism and precision. The final product was absolutely amazing...
Hear directly from one of our clients.
We recently ordered custom challenge coins for Search & Support San Antonio, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The quality is outstanding, and the coins truly capture the meaning behind our mission. From start to finish, the customer service was excellent.

Great service and quality! They worked with us to get some last minute patches for a US Navy function and everything arrived on time! Great pricing too. Thanks so much!

FAQs
Q
How do I place an order?
Fill out the form with your product details, and a rep will reach out to get things moving. From there, you review a design mockup, move through proof approval, and head into production. Most orders are in your hands within three weeks.
Q
How much do custom coins typically cost?
Most custom coins land between $3 and $8 per unit cost. Size, color count, and upgrade options all move that number. The more complex the build, the more it reflects in the price.
Q
What is the minimum order quantity?
Our minimum is 50 per design. Enough to cover your crew, stock the squadron, and still have enough wing coins left over for the next ceremony.
Q
What is the production time for challenge coins? Can I rush my order?
Most orders ship in 3 to 4 weeks. Rush production is available if a ceremony deadline is tight. Just ask. The reorder process is even quicker since the hard work is already done.
Q
How do I know what my coin will look like?
We require proof approval before a single coin gets made. Custom design support is included, unlimited revisions are part of the process, and physical samples are on the table if a digital art proof is not enough.
Q
What coin sizes do you offer?
1.5" to 2.5" covers most orders. But size is never a hard limit here. No stock Air Force challenge coins, no standard templates. Base coins, custom shapes, any size the design calls for.
Q
How durable are the plating finishes?
Since our beginnings in 1989, we have had one motto when it comes to plating: do it right or do not do it. Thick, durable finishes on all the collector coins we produce. That standard will never change.
Q
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. Monterey Company ships worldwide. Our nationwide fulfillment operation handles APO, DPO, and FPO addresses without issue. Wherever the mission takes your unit, we can get coins there.
Q
Can I track my order after it ships?
The moment your order ships, a tracking number heads your way. We ship with FedEx and USPS, including delivery to military bases.
Q
What is the history behind Air Force challenge coins?
The history of the Air Force challenge coin traces back to World War 1, when military units began striking coins bearing unit insignia as symbols of belonging and survival. Traditional Air Force challenge coins carried that spirit forward through every conflict since. Today the modern uses for challenge coins have expanded well beyond the battlefield. PCS gifts, leadership presentations, retirement ceremonies. The coin has never meant more than it does right now.
